Crazy Dude Plays By-Tor and the Snow Dog on A Ukulele
Saw this on RushIsABand.com this morning and almost threw up my cereal. If you can make it to the end, you get a medal. Dude can barely keep up in the middle section but damn if this isn't oddly compelling!
That was sheer madness. Similar with the other weird Rush thing, I actually kinda... liked it? Ukulele's have rather strange tunings and at least some thought had to go into the arrangement (he should have skipped the middle section, though).
I think the amazing thing is that he seems to take this very seriously, even adding a little echo and reverb to the recording and using the red light to add to the eeriness of the song. I agree, though, the middle part was a little lame, especially him trying to reproduce Neil Peart rolling on a snare drum put through a phaser...
