OK, so aside from the fact that the shred and this song do NOT go together, I thought it was very cool that this woman is such a fine guitarist. And damn it, if she turns a bunch of Miley-loving tween girls onto shredding guitar, then God Bless Her!
Also, according to Wikipedia, she was Michael Jackson's lead guitarist and "was present on all rehearsals for his This Is It tour before his death...She appears in the film This Is It, which chronicles the rehearsals for the tour" and is raking in loads of cash. Further proving that if you want a career pop, all you have to do is die.
Enjoy.

Wow! Quite the shredding from a youngster like her. I agree, though, it sounds out of place with the pop song. Kinda like having Neil Peart play Rush drum styles to AC/DC music. Thanks for the post...
Hey Isorki, just wanted to say thanks for the mention. "Lavigne meets Malmsteen" sums it up perfectly.
GOOD for her! We need many more females that can actually play guitar!!!
I agree. I remember thinking it was great when gals like Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton came on the scene - ladies who actually played instruments and wrote their own songs. Orianthi notches it up a few levels, though. I mean, I think I am an OK guitar player but she kicks my ass when it comes to this style. And she's what, 20? Gah!
Honestly, the first thing I thought when I saw her was, holy crap, It's like Avril Lavigne and Jan Kuehnemund from Vixen got mixed up in a blender. She's the first hot lead who can rip on a guitar to come along since Joan, Lita and Jan.
You need to listen to all her work and I can't get enough. The guitar is everywhere and she does a few instrumentals on the 2 albums that make your hair stand on edge.
She plays like a dream, sings well and ain't too shabby in the looks department.
Hopefully she and her music are around for a long time to come.
Lurker and Max, agreed. I need to check out more of this artist!
