I remember cranking that Metal Health album in high school. He had some good pipes for being a total metal head. (Both good things). RIP.

I saw this too and was shocked. That could be me in 12 years (absent the long hair and perm). I do remember liking Quiet Riot a bit. Despite its commerciality (if there is such a word) "Cum on Feel the Noize" was a good song: catchy riff, good vocals, and it rocked. I also like "Metal Health" and "Big Black Cadillac", two other singles from that album. The thing I remember most about Dubrow is that he was one of the scarier looking guys in the 80's hair metal scene, almost as scary as Ronnie James Dio.
It is hard to remember or appreciate this because so much has gone down since 1983, but Cum On Feel The Noize (although a cover) was actually the first heavy metal song to make the top 5 on Billboard's pop chart. It wasn't just another commercial hit song: for better or worse they basically launched heavy metal into the pop mainstream.
